Board of County Commissioners — 2026-05-12

The Board of County Commissioners met May 12, 2026 (Commissioners Moran, Wilson, McLaughlin, and Corchiarino present; Commissioner Dumenil absent). The Board held two closed sessions: one (recorded from 5:07 p.m. to 5:18 p.m.) to discuss potential litigation with County staff and legal counsel present, and a second to discuss Boards & Commissions and personnel. Actions taken in open session included unanimous appointment of Guy McGuire to the Bay Bridge Airport Advisory Committee (term to June 30, 2029), unanimous reappointments to the Police Accountability Board (Douglas Womack, Janet Pauls, James Thompson III, Bernard Sadusky, and Pete Eliadis; terms to June 30, 2030), reappointment of Rhonda Knotts to the Social Services Advisory Board (term to June 30, 2029), and reappointment/appointments on the Travel and Tourism Advisory Committee (reappoint Katharine Bonner, Dolores Jones, Kelly Phipps; appoint Kashira Brooks; terms to March 31, 2029). The Board also unanimously approved a revision to the Retiree Health Insurance Program policy (300-403 §4.8) to increase the vesting requirement for County Commissioners from two full terms to three full terms, approved the meeting agenda and April 28, 2026 minutes, and heard no public speakers during Press & Public Comment.
