These are the draft minutes of the Centreville Town Council meeting on April 16, 2026. The Council approved prior meeting minutes, heard a citizen express financial concerns about a proposed wastewater treatment plant expansion, and received a utility rate study presentation with a request for more comparative and phased-option analysis and a future work session. The Council made and unanimously approved multiple appointments to boards and commissions and administered oaths; approved the Farmers Market road closure for Lawyers Row from the first week of May through the second week of November; and unanimously approved an allocation of eight (8) water and sewer EDUs to Blue Crab Car Wash (Category 2). The Council unanimously adopted Resolution 06-2026 (Administrative Leave Policy) and Resolution 07-2026 (Inclement Weather Policy), held first readings for Ordinance 02-2026 (vacant property chapter) and Ordinance 04-2026 (allow solar arrays as a special exception in R-1) with public hearings set for May 21, 2026, and reviewed trash/recycling bids requesting additional cost and service-model analysis with further discussion planned for May 7. Reports noted upcoming Council of Governments and CEDA meetings, Arbor Day tree plantings on April 24, and a Planning Commission update including denial of a short-term rental at 119 Watson Road due to a buffering requirement.
