The Town of Centreville held a Council Strategic Work Session on February 19, 2026 to review accomplishments and conduct strategic planning across economic development, infrastructure, finance, community initiatives, and legislative priorities. Council and staff reviewed recent achievements (communications upgrades, waterfront and band shell grant progress, DPW staffing, wastewater planning) and set multiple action items including continued departmental reporting and incorporating accomplishments into annual reports. Major topics and specific actions included establishing quarterly updates for the Booms Tracker and integrating it into budget planning; drafting a vacant property ordinance and rental registry with cost analysis; developing a cost analysis and funding options for a full‑time Economic Development Director; researching special district feasibility and Town‑owned property inventory; updating wastewater funding matrices and fee allocation; and creating financial reporting templates, a debt policy, and formal check request procedures. Other actions addressed events and band shell marketing, communications procedures, parks/trails rail corridor research, long‑term parking and road resurfacing planning, charitable giving policy/rubric, and compiling formal legislative priorities; the meeting adjourned at 2:18 p.m.
