Town Council — 2025-10-16

The Town Council held its reorganization meeting on October 16, 2025 at the Liberty Building. The Council unanimously approved the October 2 minutes, accepted the Board of Supervisors of Elections’ Certification of Nomination confirming Frederick E. Beu and Fred M. McNeil were uncontested, and accepted the Certification of Oath Administration; Beu and McNeil were seated on the Council. Ashley H. Kaiser was unanimously elected Council President and Jeffery D. Kiel was unanimously elected Vice President for 2025–2026. The Council unanimously appointed Karen Luffman as Finance Officer and Sharon VanEmburgh as Town Attorney, and President Kaiser named Council liaisons: Sandra L. Huffer to the Planning Commission, Fred M. McNeil to the Park Advisory Board, Frederick E. Beu to Economic Development, Jeffery D. Kiel as the voting member to the Queen Anne’s County Council of Governments, and Kaiser to the Maryland Municipal League. The meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
