The Centreville Town Council met August 7, 2025. The Council approved the July 10 meeting minutes, scheduled a detailed Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) work session for September 4 at 5:30 p.m., and unanimously approved two ordinances after public hearings: Ordinance 08-2025 (Trailer Ordinance) and Ordinance 10-2025 (new Chapter 2 for Administrative Search Warrants). Appearing residents included Ashley Durant, whose request to close Coursevall Dr. for Family Fun Day was denied but who was offered police traffic direction from 2:00–8:00 p.m., and Mary Margaret Goodwin, who announced an August 27 plaque dedication for Samuel Turbett Wright and recommended full-color aluminum historical signage. The Council modified a proposed change to vendor payment processing to require Finance to provide the Council 48 hours to object to the check register before checks are processed. The Council awarded Contract Amendment 4 to Whitman, Requardt & Associates for WWTP upgrade design at $2,446,672, noting a Congressional Directed Spending grant of $2,155,000 with a required 20% match ($431,000) to be budgeted in FY27; minutes cut off during the next agenda item.
