This is the Town of Centreville Council budget work session on April 3, 2025, where staff presented updates to the proposed FY2026 budget and council members approved several amendments. Key financial updates: health insurance costs were adjusted (Cigna rebate lowered net cost), a capital projects sheet was added, the General Fund shows a $117,000 transfer to fund balance and the Enterprise Fund a $29,629 transfer, and combined fund balances were reported around $7.9 million (General $2.7M; Enterprise $4.9M). The Council kept the Public Utility Tax at $13.00 per $100 of assessed value and discussed the property tax rate (current $0.535; constant-yield $0.522), deciding not to reduce the rate and instead approving removal of the 5% cost-transfer from General to Enterprise and cutting $2,019 from A92-7440 to balance the budget. Main Street reported a conservative budget for the Maryland Crafted event with increased sponsorships, modestly higher vendor and ticket fees, and about $3,100 in planned advertising expenses. No citizens commented and the meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m.
