Town Council — 2025-02-20

These are the minutes of the Centreville Town Council meeting held February 20, 2025. The Council approved the February 6 minutes; the FY24 audit reported no fraud or material weaknesses; and a resident opposed Ordinance 01-2025 and asked the Council to table it, but the Council kept a public hearing scheduled for March 6. Developers for the Hillside Liquors project presented a State Highway letter about the site entrance, affordability rent ranges, and requested a Public Works Agreement and a relocated 15' pedestrian easement; the Council passed Resolution 01-2025 to authorize a Public Works Agreement with Corsica Creek Commons, LLC and Hillside Liquors and Deli, LLC using Trail Easement Option B (roll call recorded). A proposal to make the south end of Homewood Avenue one-way was discussed but deferred pending notice to Chesterfield Avenue residents by March 5; the Planning Commission reported multiple items including a postponed future land use map hearing (rescheduled for March 19), GTI odor-control proposals and tree plantings, quarterly air monitoring, and YMCA pool-shelter/PWA matters. The Town Manager and Clerk reported ongoing budget work with a March 6 presentation, a cemetery cleanup scheduled for March 8, and a Park Advisory Board event on March 4 to welcome two student Trail Ambassadors.
