The Centreville Town Council met on November 7, 2024; members present in person and by Zoom approved the October 17 minutes and had no public comments during Citizens Forum. Jill Kries was sworn in to the Board of Supervisors of Elections for a three-year term expiring April 2027. The council held public hearings on Ordinance 10-2024 (budget amendment) — amending the general fund by $35,322 and the Enterprise Fund by $77,630 due to fee increases and unexpected repairs — and approved that ordinance unanimously. The council also held a hearing on Ordinance 11-2024 (sidewalks), which would make adjacent property owners responsible for sidewalk maintenance, allow appeals to the Board of Zoning Appeals, and require snow/ice removal by all properties; a resident, Michele Comer, opposed the ordinance citing a $7,000–$10,000 repair cost from tree-root damage, and the council voted unanimously to table the ordinance for further consideration. In new business the council gave a first reading to Ordinance 12-2024 to codify site-plan review procedures prepared by the Planning Commission and tentatively scheduled a public hearing for December 5; an item labeled “End of Year Decisions” was introduced but the minutes stop before details are given.
