Town Council — 2024-06-06

The Centreville Town Council met June 6, 2024 and approved the May 16 meeting minutes. Main Street Manager Carol D’Agostino reported on Drink Maryland (vendor spaces sold out, new sponsors including Wye River Kennels and a new T‑shirt sponsor, Shore United sponsoring Lawyers Row music, and strong corporate sponsorship). The Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 04‑2024 (FY25 budget) and approved Resolution 10‑2024 to remove four parking spaces on the east side of Liberty Street after a successful temporary test. Council approved using remaining ARPA funds by creating an MOU with Public Works for $2,584,660 (covering four contracted items and leaving $2,014,928 identified for Public Works), discussed one‑time and recurring costs for items including the Neptune system, Spatial Systems Associates GIS work, program management extension, and e‑procurement; the motion passed unanimously. The Council approved closing Lawyers Row for two Saturdays (allowing nonconsecutive dates), set summer meeting dates (June 20, July 18, August 1; August 15 TBD), and introduced Resolution 14‑2024 to annex 279.586 acres for Providence at Centreville, withdrew earlier related measures, and referred the new annexation and zoning measures to the Planning Commission with a public hearing scheduled for September 5, 2024.
