Town Council — 2024-05-16

The Centreville Town Council met May 16, 2024. The Council unanimously approved the May 2 minutes, unanimously approved Ordinance 03-2024 updating the Town building code to the 2021 IBC, and held a public hearing on Ordinance 04-2024 (FY25 budget), which the Council will consider at its June 6 meeting; the draft budget shows a $105,650 transfer to the General Fund balance and a $151,706 transfer to the Enterprise Fund balance. The Council approved Rt. 213 patchwork roadwork with David A. Bramble, Inc. for $25,151, and continued consideration of Resolution 10-2024 to remove four parking spaces on the east side of Liberty Street with continued targeted enforcement. Reports included upcoming MML conference dates, Council of Governments updates (new officers and County recreation center discussion), Economic Development coordination with County staff, a cancelled Park Advisory Board meeting, and Planning Commission officer elections and project updates (216 N. Liberty paint recommendation, Providence Farm annexation visioning, and Pennsylvania Ave mixed-use discussion).
