Town Council — 2023-10-05

The Centreville Town Council held a reorganization meeting on October 5, 2023 at the Vincit Building. The Council accepted the October 2 Certification of Election Results confirming Jeffery D. Kiel’s election, acknowledged that oaths were administered by Katherine Hager, and approved the September 21 minutes; no citizens spoke. The Council elected Ashley H. Kaiser as President and Eric B. Johnson, Jr. as Vice President for 2023–2024, appointed Sharon VanEmburgh as Town Attorney and Karen Luffman as Finance Officer, and made several council liaison appointments (Planning Commission, Park Advisory Board, Economic Development, Queen Anne’s County Council of Governments, Maryland Municipal League). Council members thanked outgoing President Steven K. Kline for his service, there was consensus to adopt a task management tool to track council tasks, and the meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
