The Centreville Town Council met on December 1, 2022. The Council approved the November 17, 2022 minutes, administered the oath of office to Jeff Kiel (Planning Commission), and heard a presentation on the FY2022 audit from Chris Lehman of SB & Company; the audit presentation drew public praise for Finance Officer Karen Luffman. Department and board reports covered upcoming meetings and events, a scheduled follow-up with WATEK on the Westminster treatment plant design, police preparations for the Christmas parade, completion of the budget timeline, a November 28 water leak response, two public-works staff attending park safety training, and completion of north sanitary sewer interceptor repairs at lower-than-anticipated cost. The Town received a $25,000 façade improvement grant, the employee Christmas breakfast and the parade (about 70 entries) were announced, the volunteer dinner was moved from Jan 21 to Jan 28, HR is completing a background check for a utility worker, and a council tour of the GTI facility prompted discussion about odors and a possible public Q&A. The meeting included a citizen comment from Joe Brown and adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
