Town Council — 2022-06-02

The June 2, 2022 Centreville Town Council meeting approved the May 19, 2022 minutes, granted permission for the Drug Free Coalition’s “QAC Goes Purple” event on September 10th, and received several written citizen comments largely addressing the Carter Farm project. The Council conducted a second reading of Ordinance 07-2022 (convenience store size amendment) and agreed to reschedule the public hearing to July 21 at the applicant’s request. Ordinance 08-2022 adopting the FY2023 budget was read and approved unanimously. The Council discussed Ordinance 09-2022 (Carter Farm growth allocation), agreeing the developer must dedicate the trail and buffer to the Town, debating public vs. private streets (with the topic tabled until a full Council is present), considering excluding a 5-acre farm parcel from the growth allocation, and noting concerns about HOA fees and second-generation buyers; other site and commercial-space placement issues were also raised.
