These are the minutes of the Centreville Town Council budget work session held April 14, 2022. Council and staff reviewed department operating budgets, reporting the proposed General Fund at $8,949 positive and the Enterprise Fund at $7,263 positive, and noted capital totals of $173,368 (General) and $154,000 (Enterprise). Council heard a written citizen comment from Tim McCluskey about cost distribution between the Enterprise and General Funds; staff explained debt prevents the Enterprise Fund from reimbursing the General Fund and the Council declined to change the allocation. The Council agreed by consensus to remove the DPW truck from encumbrances and use the balance for the next walking trail extension, to move the budget forward with minor changes, and to not include an additional police officer now but to revisit that at mid-year. The meeting was adjourned at 5:56 p.m.
