Town Council — 2022-02-17

The Town Council met on February 17, 2022. The Council approved the February 3, 2022 minutes, introduced new Project Manager Jenial Turner, and held a closed session earlier that day to discuss a personnel evaluation, potential litigation and a land acquisition; counsel was authorized to proceed with the litigation matter. Two public hearings were held: Resolution 01-2022 to repeal and replace Charter Section 523 (staff said the current requirement for Council approval of every budgeted purchase slows project execution) and Ordinance 01-2022 to add Chapter 105 establishing procurement procedures and dollar thresholds (Town Manager authority up to $50,000; bidding required for expenditures below $100,000 which the Town Manager may approve if budgeted; expenditures over $100,000 must be bid and require Council approval); neither hearing drew public comment and both hearings were adjourned.
