Town Council — 2021-11-18

The Centreville Town Council met November 18, 2021; Council President Steven K. Kline and four members plus staff attended, and the Council approved the November 4 minutes. The Council held two prior closed sessions (Nov. 4 on personnel and Nov. 18 on potential land acquisition); both were authorized under Section 3-305 and no actions were taken. In appearances, Carol D’Agostino reported the 10th Annual Centreville Day had about 30 artisans/food vendors, 11 sponsors, 16 volunteers, and an estimated 1,200 attendees. Under new business the Council reviewed a draft FY2023 budget timeline and an FY2021 audit update (including accounts receivable progress), approved Murphy & Dittenhafer, Inc. for a space needs assessment ($35,000), approved Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. for a South Interceptor engineering evaluation ($35,000), awarded Green Site, LLC the contract for three Wharf Park picnic pavilions not to exceed $129,300, and awarded Barnes Electric, Inc. the emergency generator installation work at a total price not to exceed $14,900; all votes on those motions passed unanimously. Citizens comments included remarks from Pat Fox, and Council requested a list of Town facilities with and without generators.
