The Centreville Town Council met July 8, 2021 at 7:12 p.m. at the Liberty Building. The Council approved the June 3, 2021 meeting minutes, announced two recent closed sessions (July 6—personnel discussion, no actions; July 8—personnel review and approval of a revision to an employee contract), and heard no citizens’ comments. Actions taken in open session included unanimous approval of Resolution 07-2021 adopting a compensatory time policy; formal announcement of the purchase of three Lawyers Row street lights for $13,027.20; concurrence to waive Chapter 7, Article I, Section 7-2A for the Drink Maryland: Centreville event; and approval of four allocations for the MC Ventures subdivision. On first reading the Council considered Ordinance 08-2021 (conveyance/quitclaim of a 12’ alley to a 12’ access and utility easement of 1,632 sq ft and acceptance of a 324 sq ft transfer from MC Ventures, Parcel 957; Council requested the plat for second reading) and Ordinance 09-2021 (amendment to accessory structure size limits). The agenda also listed additional first-reading ordinances, public works agreements (MC Ventures, YMCA, Green Thumb Industries), the 2020 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, reports from boards and departments, and upcoming meeting cancellations and dates.
