Town Council — 2021-02-25

The Centreville Town Council met February 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Liberty Building with all five council members and key staff present. The Council approved the February 4, 2021 minutes, held two prior closed sessions (Feb 18 and Feb 25) to consult with counsel on a development agreement and zoning matter and to interview a board/commission candidate, and took no actions in closed session. The Council appointed Jennifer Holdgreve and Chriss Chisolm to the Board of Supervisors of Elections (Holdgreve was sworn in), and received a presentation from the Centreville Ethics Commission. The Council conducted second readings of Ordinance 01-2021 (to permit certain agriculture uses in the Planned Business District) and Ordinance 02-2021 (a temporary moratorium on permits for accessory structures over 400 sq. ft.); the Planning Commission had forwarded favorable recommendations and public hearings were scheduled for March 18, 2021. The Council discussed tax set-off/tax differential information submitted to the County; Councilmembers Hardy and Kline expressed differing views on how much of the differential to return to residents. No citizen comments were offered at the meeting.
