The Town Council met November 19, 2020 at the Liberty Building. The council approved the November 5, 2020 minutes and held a closed session earlier that evening to interview candidates for boards and commissions (no actions taken). Appointments were made: Fred McNeil, Ryan Holdgreve, and Gene Magary to the Centreville Park Advisory Board (oaths administered) and Frederick Beu as a full member of the Board of Zoning Appeals. Robbie Gill and Derek White of the YMCA presented an updated plan for a proposed 41,000 sq. ft. facility behind the County Office Building on Vincit Drive with multiple amenities and a planned spring 2021 groundbreaking. The Centreville Economic Development Authority reported quorum and attendance problems and discussed needing direction from council. The council awarded the Centreville Wharf boardwalk and finger pier renovation bid to Living Ecosystems with a budget not to exceed $19,749.56 (project will use stainless steel screws), approved a one-year extension of the farm lease for the Town’s Water Reuse Farm on Hope Road through December 31, 2021, and heard Resolution 12-2020 (Charter Amendment: Section 402) read for first reading.
