Town Council — 2020-09-03

The Centreville Town Council met on September 3, 2020. The Council approved the August 13, 2020 minutes and reported a closed session held August 24 where the draft employment agreement for the Chief of Police position was approved. For old business, staff discussed Centreville Day (considering a partial live/virtual event pending county health officer input) and approved a one-time in-person Farmers’ Market on Sunday, September 27 from noon to 3:00 p.m. with a street shutdown of Lawyer’s Row, seven vendors signed up, a brunch area limited to Centreville restaurants, and planned 10-foot spacing between tables. The Council also approved two additional absentee ballot opportunities: Saturday, September 19 noon–3:00 p.m. in front of Town Hall and Sunday, September 27 noon–3:00 p.m. at the Farmers’ Market for completion or drop-off. In new business the Council unanimously adopted Resolution 10-2020 to add and clarify right-of-way permit fees (including small cell facilities, new poles, and annual right-of-way fees); department reports noted work on developer agreements, building permits/zoning, and the police department presented its August status report.
