Town Council — 2020-05-21

These are the approved minutes of the Centreville Town Council meeting held May 21, 2020, called to order by President Jeffrey C. Morgan with Council members and staff present. The Council tabled the May 14, 2020 minutes and reported a May 14 closed session concerning personnel and an employment agreement, with direction given to the Town Attorney to revise the agreement. The meeting held three public hearings: Ordinance 05-2020 (FY2021 budget) where Finance Officer Karen Luffman reviewed the current tax rate of $0.405 and proposed General and Enterprise Fund totals and numerous written public comments were received (the record was left open until the June 11, 2020 meeting); the constant yield tax rate hearing where it was stated the Town is not increasing the $0.405 rate and no public comments were offered (record also held open until June 11); and Ordinance 06-2020 (water and sewer utility rate increase) where Council noted an Enterprise Fund deficit and Mr. McCluskey presented materials, with the minutes recording that no one spoke in favor. The agenda also included items for North Brook Water Treatment Plant (McCrone report), a Chesterfield Cemetery caretaker’s building bid consideration, and the 2020 summer meeting schedule.
