Planning Commission — 2023-08-02

The Centreville Planning Commission held a special meeting on August 2, 2023 to complete a final review of the Town of Centreville Comprehensive Plan: 2040. Commission members and Town attorney reviewed and implemented a long list of specific textual and formatting edits throughout the draft (page-by-page corrections, labeling Table 3, changing wording for Employment Areas and a Technology Enterprise District, adding fair housing protections on pages 37–38, rewriting an affordability paragraph using a $354,000 median sales price and $2,555 monthly cost, switching “percentage” to “%”, clarifying Police/Fire wording about the Goodwill Fire Company, removing a phrase under Protect Stream Buffers, and inserting traffic testing language on page 73, among others). The Commission voted unanimously to close the record from the November public hearing draft and to forward the amended 2040 Comprehensive Plan draft to the Town Council for review; Council President Kline stated the Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Plan on September 21st. The meeting also approved prior meeting minutes, noted that Town attorney will research required affordability content, and adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
