Planning Commission — 2022-08-17

The Centreville Planning Commission met August 17, 2022; members approved the July 20 minutes as amended, heard no citizen comments, and discussed the Draft Comprehensive Plan’s Chapter VI: Land Use. Town Planner Chris Jakubiak distributed the draft Land Use chapter with updated maps from Queen Anne’s County GIS, and noted Transportation, Community Facilities, and Water Resources chapters will be reviewed in September. Specific map and zoning items discussed included Chair Voight’s request to change a PUD designation on the Future Land Use map for Chesterfield Avenue to TND, Jakubiak’s suggestion that the TND zone could be removed and replaced with R-2 if density is a concern, and Mr. Delaney’s request to add an acronym list to the plan. The commission set public review and outreach milestones: the Draft Comprehensive Plan will be available for public review by September 28 and a public workshop to receive comments is planned for Wednesday, October 5; members were asked to review Chapter VII (Transportation) for the next meeting. In the Council report, Mr. Kline said the Town Council is negotiating Growth Allocation for the Carter Farm development, expects clarity soon on wastewater treatment plant funding, is discussing a possible sewer extension to White Marsh Park, noted upcoming paving on Route 213, and announced a Town Council election on October 3 with four named candidates.
