Planning Commission — 2021-08-18

The Centreville Planning Commission met August 18, 2021 and approved the August 4, 2021 meeting minutes. The primary business was review of Ordinance 07-2021 (zoning text amendments for Carter Farm); the commission discussed and made numerous specific edits to the zoning and subdivision provisions (including adding traffic-calming requirements for woonerfs, fixing a typographical cross-reference, changing the title Town Planner to Zoning Administrator, and renumbering and deleting certain subsections). Key substantive changes included limiting non-residential floor area to 350 sq ft per acre (with listed exclusions), capping multi-family buildings at 16 units, allowing bed-and-breakfasts of 15 rooms or fewer, prohibiting hemp, cannabis, fox, mink, and hog production, and revising the Common Open Space definition to allow public use or private agricultural use within an approved PUD.
