Planning Commission — 2020-10-21

The October 21, 2020 Centreville Planning Commission meeting reviewed three development items and took specific actions. For 317 N. Liberty Street the Commission agreed to advise the Board of Appeals that the requested variances are consistent with the Centreville Community Plan and support infill/redevelopment for housing. The Commission approved a preliminary site plan for a 220-unit climate-controlled mini-warehouse on Railroad Avenue, with conditions requiring coordination with the Town Planner and staff on bufferyards, stormwater management, site lighting/design standards, and realignment of a future collector road as noted in the planner’s October 16 memorandum; staff also raised concerns about existing sanitary sewer/stormwater easements and headlight impacts on homes. The Commission approved a re-subdivision plat for Lot E in the Centreville Business Park to relocate lot lines D and E, conditional on establishing a 60-foot right-of-way adjoining Coursevall and Laser Drives. No citizens spoke, the September minutes review was deferred, and Council President Tim McCluskey reported the Council reorganizational results (he was elected President and will remain the Planning Commission liaison); the meeting adjourned at 8:46 p.m.
