Planning Commission — 2020-06-24

These are the minutes of the Centreville Planning Commission meeting on June 24, 2020. The Commission sworn in Joseph Cichocki and Patricia Cipriano as full members, approved the January 15 and February 19, 2020 minutes, and elected Kara Voight as Chair, Darren Brown as Vice Chair, and Pat Fox as Secretary. The Commission reviewed two variance requests: for 107 Holton Street (Jaime Fornos) it forwarded a favorable recommendation to the Board of Zoning Appeals, recommending an aggregate side setback of 8 feet with offsets of 5 feet and 3 feet to allow equipment access; for 250 Heritage Way (David & Marianne Connolly) it advised the Board of Appeals that the requested rear-yard setback variance would not be inconsistent with the Centreville Community Plan. The Commission received an informal review from Queen Anne’s County Public Schools about options for a new Board of Education building (noting estimated costs presented for renovation vs. replacement and study of sites at 202 Chesterfield Avenue and Vincit Street), noted zoning work sessions are on hold due to COVID-19, and recorded a Council report including a council member resignation and upcoming Town Council election.
