The Centreville Planning Commission met January 15, 2020 (Liberty Building) and approved the September 18, 2019 meeting minutes. The commission forwarded a favorable recommendation to Town Council on Ordinance 15‑2019 (Subdivision Regulations), which removes the Town Engineer signature requirement on plats and changes the Chairman signature line to Chair. The commission also approved and forwarded amendments to Chapter 145 (Article IV, Street Trees) — including renaming 145‑21 to Street Tree Selection, revising 145‑26 to place maintenance responsibility for planting areas and street trees on property owners (and deleting the word “trim”), and renumbering definitions to 145‑27 — and sent the changes to Council along with a Street Tree Manual of Specifications. Members discussed a streamlined update to the Comprehensive Plan (noting the TND portion could be updated easily and suggesting work sessions), set an annual report target for completion by July, and heard a Council member suggestion to modify bylaws to allow the Chair to vote; the meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
