The Park Advisory Board held a work session on August 9, 2022, to plan a Wharf Park recognition event. They agreed the event should be more than a ribbon cutting and discussed tentative dates of Saturday, September 10 or September 17, to be submitted to Town Council for approval. The proposed schedule is a 4–6 PM fishing derby, a 6:15 PM ribbon cutting, 6:30–8 PM serving hot dogs, and an 8 PM movie night; the board requested Council approval and funding to purchase the movie and asked for a Council liaison to participate. The board identified outreach and logistics tasks (contact Corsica River Conservancy, QAC Parks & Recreation, Tim McCluskey, Boy Scouts or volunteers to serve food, order trophies, obtain Wharf history from the Town Clerk) and voted to request Town Council support and funding.
