The May 3, 2022 Park Advisory Board meeting at Wharf Park approved the April 5 minutes, heard a citizen concern about a nonfunctioning fire extinguisher and the need for more extinguishers, and reviewed multiple Wharf Park project updates: three pavilions are complete, overhead lights installed (with switches to be changed to dawn-to-dusk sensors if left on), eight-foot picnic tables will be bolted to each pavilion, six trash cans and three grills with ash bins will be placed, and about $2,039 in Community Parks & Playgrounds funds are available to use by June 30. The board noted the Town budgeted $135,000 for Phase II of the Millstream Trail (extending across Route 213, behind Hillside across ~70 acres granted by Symphony Village, continuing south with bridges and paths adjacent to woodlands behind Rolling Bridge Road property owned by Peter Shaeffer). Members discussed uses for remaining PAB funds (over $7,000) including an edible planting trail, a daffodil box at Millstream, larger accessible swings, boardwalk/dock lighting, new easels/information boards for events, and holiday lights for the Wharf; they also reported Arbor Day went well. The PAB sent a letter to Town Council supporting the QAC Dog Park and requesting Council send a support letter to QAC Commissioners. The next in-person PAB meeting was scheduled for June 7, 2022; that agenda included updates, purchasing a new swing set from the PAB budget, a 34" x 16" bulletin board, and updating park rules and regulations.
