The Park Advisory Board met April 5, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom and approved the March 1, 2022 minutes, held elections (re-electing Mike Whitehill as Chair, Gene Magary as Vice Chair, and Sandy Simpson as Secretary), and adjourned at 7:20 p.m. Members noted a new five‑year landscape maintenance contract (with the current contractor) starting April 11 with an approximate $1,200 increase. Progress updates included Wharf pavilion construction (weathervanes installed, power openings, handrail work, accessibility, and future power outlets for food trucks), plans to move the pump‑out facility as part of a green marina, and intent to seek 2024 grant funding for a bandshell. Park maintenance items discussed were Millstream Trail (corroded signs, graffiti removal, tree‑root intrusion, and phragmites eradication), need to revitalize annual plantings at Pop Taylor Park (no power installation due to cost), and trail‑connection discussions with Queen Anne’s County (including a connector to Taylor Mill Road and a possible connector to White Marsh Park); the PAB was asked to send a letter supporting a QAC dog park at White Marsh Park. Arbor Day was scheduled for April 29 at 9:30 a.m. with Centreville Elementary participation and three trees to be planted, and the next PAB meeting will be in person at the Wharf.
