The Park Advisory Board met November 2, 2021, approved the October 5 minutes, and reviewed project updates and upcoming events. Key updates: Wharf Park electrical work and critical-area planting are underway, and bids for three Wharf Park pavilions (not to exceed $45,000 per pavilion) are out and due November 10; Pop Taylor Park landscaping was approved for $800 but work has not started; Millstream Park’s observation deck has recurring graffiti that DPW cleaned twice and the Board discussed increased policing and grant-funding timing. Other items: a packet on dog parks was presented and the Board discussed forming a committee to take plans to Town Council; Rich Ryan emailed that there are ten Christmas Trees and ten “$oups” to decorate and the Board set Sunday, November 28, 2021 at noon to decorate downtown Centreville, will request volunteers via the town email blast, and asked DPW to provide access and supplies; the Board also noted the Millstream basketball court could use improvements and discussed adding game tables possibly covered by grants. The meeting had no formal reports and adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
