Parks & Recreation — 2021-02-02

The Park Advisory Board met via Zoom on February 2, 2021, chaired by Mike Whitehill with members and staff present. The board approved the November 3, 2020 minutes and unanimously accepted the PAB 2020 Annual Report, which Norma Robinson was asked to forward to Town Council. Updates included Wharf work (redecking to begin when weather breaks, added steps, DPW to reinstall an old swing set, and expanded landscape maintenance contracted to Southeast Lawn & Landscape), discussion of a possible assist bar at the kayak launch, and consideration of restoring the Millstream Park basketball court. The board discussed ways to honor John and Nancy Covert (bench, holly trees, or school recognition) and noted holiday decoration failures with replacement decorations included in the upcoming DPW budget; the next meeting was set for March 2, 2021.
