Bc Elections — 2020-08-11

The Board of Supervisors of Elections met August 11, 2020 at Centreville Town Hall and reviewed Certificates of Nomination. The board accepted certificates for nine candidates — Dale Becraft, Shelby Brown, Robert Hardy, Jr., Jeffrey Kiel, Steven Kline, Anne Lane, Fred McNeil, George Sigler, and Daniel Worth — after the Centreville Ethics Commission and the Queen Anne’s County Board of Elections confirmed the nomination and financial disclosure forms and that each candidate met voter, residency, and age qualifications. The board discussed election-day procedures and COVID-19 safety measures, including offering drive-thru voting, holding alternate absentee ballot sites on a Saturday, consulting the QAC Health Department for guidance, providing plexiglass/face shields/masks/hand sanitizer, staffing with about nine volunteers and a hall monitor to check temperatures and distancing, and posting a large sample ballot and a description of the four open seats in the hallway. No citizens commented and the meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
