This press release from the Centreville Police Department reports that on January 3, 2024 at approximately 1900 hours officers responded to a report of a critically missing vulnerable adult. The missing person was identified as William Thomas Davis, Jr., who had walked away from his place of employment toward the wooded area behind the Center Park housing development on Little Hut Drive; due to his health, clothing, and the weather he was classified as vulnerable. Multiple allied law enforcement, fire, EMS, K9, aviation and drone teams and community volunteers conducted an area search; after several hours Mr. Davis was located deceased and transported to the Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for further investigation. The department expressed condolences to the family and thanked the many agencies and community members who assisted in the search.

INVESTIGATOR: Officer Ford - Centreville Police Department NARRATIVE: On Wednesday, 1/3/24 at approx. 1900 hrs, the Centreville Police Department responded to the area of E. Water St. and Pennsylvania Ave. to meet with a complainant in reference to a cri�cally missing vulnerable adult. Officers from the Centreville Police Department arrived on the scene and determined from the informa�on obtained that an adult male iden�fied as Mr. William Thomas Davis, Jr. had walked off from his place of employment heading towards the wooded area to the rear of the Center Park housing development on Li�le Hut Drive. Due to the informa�on received from his family members concerning Mr. Davis’s health, the clothing he was last seen wearing, the weather condi�ons at the �me he went missing, he was deemed to be a vulnerable missing adult. The Centreville Police Department immediately contacted allied agencies for resources to assist with an area search for Mr. Davis. Several members from allied Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Squads responded with personnel/equipment and began the search efforts. A�er a few hours into the search, Mr. Davis was located, however, he had succumbed to his environment. Mr. Davis was transported to the Maryland Medical Examiner's Office in Bal�more, MD for further inves�ga�on. The Centreville Police Department offers their hear�elt condolences to Mr. Davis’s family and friends during these difficult �mes. The conclusion of this search was the result of numerous police agencies, fire/EMS and community members coming together and working �relessly to locate Mr. Davis. A huge debt of gra�tude is extended to the following members that assisted in the opera�on: Goodwill Volunteer Fire Dept. and various Fire/EMS departments throughout Queen Anne's County and surrounding coun�es, Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, Maryland State Police K9/Avia�on divisions, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office K9 division, Bay Area Drone services and, many family and friends of Mr. Davis.
