This is Centreville Police Department Directive 7.4 (Medical Duty Status), issued 10/1/2016 and revised 7/12/2018, describing how employees are placed on full, restricted, or no-duty status after illness or injury. It assigns the CPD Physician to determine duty status and restrictions, and the Chief to complete required documentation and notify Human Resources about restricted-duty availability. Officers placed on restricted or no-duty must surrender their CPD badge, MPCTC card, CPD-issued firearms, and CPD vehicle; restricted-duty employees may not carry department firearms, be assigned hazardous duties or use CPD vehicles, and may be given non-hazardous office tasks or limited overtime at the Chief’s discretion. Employees must notify their supervisor, submit an Employee Sick Leave/Illness Report or medical certificate, provide updated certificates when restrictions change, and follow the CPD sick leave policy while on no-duty status.
