A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE TOWN OF CENTREVILLE COMMUNITY

PLAN RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION BY TOWN OF CENTREVILLE

PLANNING COMMISSION AND THE QUEEN ANNE S COUNTY PLANNING

COMMISSION WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE CITIZEN S ADVISORY

COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 66B OF THE ANNOTATED CODE

OF MARYLAND

In 2005 the Town of Centreville began efforts to update the June 1998 Centreville Community Plan to be in compliance with the update requirement of Article 66B ofthe Annotated Code of Maryland A Citizen Advisory Committee CAC was appointed to review the Centreville Community Plan for revisions The CAC conducted a Community Workshop on February 15 2006 The CACcarefully considered all ofthe comments

Following numerous works sessions the CAC issued a Draft Plan on March 21 2007 to the Town and County Planning Commissions forjoint review and consideration The Town and County Planning Commissions held a joint workshop on April 23 2007 to review and discuss the CAC Draft Plan The County Planning Commission approved changes to be included in the Review Draft Plan on May 10 2007 The Town Planning Commission followed with its

approval on May 16 2007 On September 26 2007 the Town and County Planning Commissions held a joint public hearing to receive additional public comment to the Draft Plan and the Town Planning Commission s work session was held on November 7 2007 and the County Planning Commission s on November 8 2007 On December 12 2007 the Town and County Planning Commissions held a joint meeting to consider the suggested revisions on the Review Draft

Plan based on direction provided by the two Planning Commissions Each approved a Joint Resolution recommending adoption of the Planning Commission Draft Community Plan by the Centreville Town Council and the Board ofCounty Commissioners ofQueen Anne s County The proposed plan conforms to the requirements ofArticle 66B Section 3 07 ofthe Annotated Code of Maryland and will promote the health safety and

welfare ofthe citizens of Centreville Maryland On December 18 2008 the Centreville Town Council and the Board of County Commissioners of Queen Anne s County held a joint public hearing to consider adoption of the Centreville Community Plan Each Commission reviewed and considered testimony from the public hearing Each legislative body remanded the Plan back to its Planning Commission for reconsideration

ofcertain issues The Town and County Planning Commissions at their meetings of February 18 2009 and March 12 2009 respectively approved changes to the Plan Each Planning Commission approved a Joint Resolution recommending adoption by the Centreville Town Council and the Board of County Commissioners of Queen Anne s County of the Planning Commissions Recommended Community Plan It is therefore RESOLVED that the Centreville Town Council and the

Board of County Commissioners of Queen Anne s County acting pursuant to the authority of Article 66B of the Annotated Code of Maryland hereby jointly approve and adopt the 2009 CentrevilleCommunity Plan The Plan will replace the Town s 1998 Comprehensive Plan and will be incorporated as an amendment to the County s 2002 Comprehensive Plan
