The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will replace the bridge on MD 213 (Centreville Road) over Old Mill Stream Branch in Centreville, Queen Anne’s County. The project was in design and construction was scheduled to begin in Fall 2018 with an anticipated duration of about one year. A public informational meeting was scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Centreville Middle School (132 Rustburg Road, Centreville, MD 21612); the meeting has no formal presentation and will feature maps/displays and MDOT SHA staff to answer questions. MDOT SHA said the bridge (originally built 1912, widened in 1945) is in poor condition and nearing the end of its useful life, and that replacing it will improve safety, mobility, and reduce maintenance; traffic management alternatives and detour information will be discussed at the meeting. Contact names and numbers are provided (Justin Mohr, PE, Project Engineer; Greg Holsey, District Engineer) and the newsletter gives website instructions (roads.maryland.gov and MD511) for more project and traffic information.
