TOWN COUNCIL OF CENTREVILLE RESOLUTION 15-2025 A RESOLUTION CONCERNING DESIGNATION OF RESIDENT AGENT FOR THE SERVICE OF PROCESS For the purpose of designating a resident agent for service of process upon the Town Council of Centreville; and all matters related thereto. WHEREAS, Section 1-1301 of the Local Government Article of the Maryland Annotated Code requires municipalities to designate a resident agent to accept service of process under certain circumstances and file the designation with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation. NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council hereby resolves as follows: Section 1: The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein by reference and made a part of this Resolution; Section 2: Sharon VanEmburgh, Town Attorney, Ewing, Dietz, Fountain & Kaludis, P.A., 16 South Washington Street, Easton, MD 21601, shall be and is hereby designated as the resident agent to accept service of process for the Town Council of Centreville and also members of the Town Council who are being sued in the official capacities as members of the Town Council of Centreville. Section 3: This Resolution shall not be construed as authorizing the person designated above to receive or accept service of process on behalf of any member of the Town Council of Centreville who is being sued as an individual and not as a member of the Town Council or as an employee, agent, or representative of the Town Council of Centreville, whichever the case may be. Section 4: This Resolution shall be filed with the State of Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation; and Section 5: This Resolution shall be effective immediately. READ AND PASSED THIS day of , 2025. BY ORDER: We hereby certify that Resolution Number -2025 is true and correct and duly adopted by the Town Council of Centreville, Maryland.
