Board of Supervisors of Elections August 19, 2021 6:00 p.m.
MINUTES
The August 19, 2021 Board of Supervisors of Elections meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Jim Watson, Chair, at the Centreville Town Hall, 101 Lawyers Row. The following members and staff were present: Jim Watson, Chair; Nancy Weibell, Jennifer Holdgreve, and Chrissy Chisolm, Members; and Carolyn Brinkley, Town Clerk.
Review of Minutes Mr. Watson made a motion to approve the August 20, 2020 meeting minutes, as presented. Ms. Weibell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
a. Review Certificates of Nomination o Ms. Brinkley reported that the following Certificates of Nomination were received: Eric B. Johnson, Jr., Ashley H. Kaiser, and Timothy E. McCluskey.
o Ms. Brinkley stated that the Centreville Ethics Commission has reviewed the Financial Disclosure forms for each candidate and found them to be in order. Letters were received for each candidate from the Ethics Commission.
o Ms. Brinkley also reported that she contacted the Queen Anne’s County Board of Elections and confirmed the following for each candidate: active voter, registered for 6 months or more, resident in town for two or more years, and are 25 years or older. She received confirmation from the QAC Board of Elections that each candidate met the qualifications.
o Mr. Watson made a motion to accept all certificates of nomination for: Eric B. Johnson, Jr., Ashley H. Kaiser, and Timothy E. McCluskey. Ms. Holdgreve seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
b. Discussion o There was discussion regarding providing additional absentee ballot options this year like was done the previous year. After some discussion, the Board felt it was not needed this year and citizens understood the ability to request an absentee ballot if they were not comfortable coming in to vote.
o The Board discussed setting up a table during the Meet and Greet the candidates would be attending at Symphony Village. A date for this has not yet been set.
o The plexiglass, facemasks, hand sanitizer, disposable pens, and cleaning wipes will be used again this year on election day.

• No citizens were present for comment.
Adjourn After some discussion, the Board agreed to meet again on Tuesday, August 31st at 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall. There being no further business, Mr. Watson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Weibell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
