Park Advisory Board Meeting (Via - Zoom) April 6,2021- 6 PM Minutes 'fhe April 6,2021Park Advisory Board (PAB) meeting was called to order by Mike Whitehill, Chair at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. The following members and staff were present: Mike Whitehill, Chair; Priscilla Mileski, Vice Chair; Sandy Simpson, Secretary; Rich Ryan, Gene Magary, and Ryan Holgreve, Members; Steve Walls, Town Manager; and Norma Robinson, Administrative
Assistant.
Review and Approval ofPrevious Minutes:
a Ms. Mileski made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Ryan, to approve the March 2,2021PAB meeting minutes, as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

a None Old Business:
a Mr. Whitehill gave an overall update of the Wharf project. He reported that Southeast Lawn and Landscape has already begun working at the parks. The swing set should be installed within the next month.
a Ms. Mileski reported that the Bluebird and Wood Duck boxes have been installed.
People can see the Wood Duck boxes from the end of Glendale Avenue and Goose Landing.
a Ms. Robinson advised that the Board of Education approved planting of the two Nellie Stevens Holly trees at Centreville Elementary School to honor Nancy and Jack Covert. The purchase of the trees was approved by a relative, Art Shuster, who will pay for the purchase of the two trees. Mr. Whitehill and Ms. Simpson visited the school and selected a location for planting. The trees will be planted as part of the
Arbor Day celebration, Friday, April 30, 2021. The PAB requested Unity Landscape deliver the trees and the Department of Public Works (DPW) dig the holes for the Holly Trees. The DPW should schedule a Ms. utility locate before digging.
New Business:
a The Town of centreville has been designated Tree city USA for 2020 w,6oards/PAB/minttesl2)2l I April 6, 2021 a Ms. Simpson advised that there is an erosion problem at the end of Millstream trail near Glendale Avenue which should be addressed before it becomes worse.
a Mr. Whitehill discussed the PAB annual Election of Officers. Mr. Whitehill asked for volunteers for each position, comments, or a slate of officers. Mr. Ryan made a motion to have the current officers remain in their position; Mr. Whitehill as Chair, Ms. Mileski as Vice Chair, and Ms. Simpson as Secretary. All were in favor and the motion passed unanimously.
Discussion:
a The next PAB meeting will be held }day 4,2021,6 p.m. viaZoom. The June 1,2027 PAB meeting will be held at Millstream Park pavilion.
a Mr. Whitehill asked to remind the Town Council of the Arbor Day celebration and welcome them to join.
