Park Advisory Board meeting September 1,2020 Wharf Park, Watson Rd, Centreville Minutes The September 1,2020 Park Advisory Board (PAB) meeting was called to order by Mike Whitehill, Chair at 5:01 p.m. at the Wharf Park, l0l Watson Road, Centreville. The following members and staff were present:
Mike Whitehill, Chair; Priscilla Mileski, Vice Chair; Sandy Simpson, Secretary; Shelby Brown and Rich Ryan, Members; Tim McCluskey, Council Vice President and Norma Robinson, Administrative Assistant.
Review and Approval of Previous Minutes:
a Ms. Mileski made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Ryan, to approve the March 3,2020 meeting minutes as presented. The motions passed unanimously.

o Timothy McCluskey, Council Vice President Old Business:
a Mr. Whitehill presented plans for the Centreville Wharf Park and the PAB took a walking tour. Mr. Whitehill advised that a proposed grant has been applied for that includes the installation of a bandshell, paving of the parking lot, the installation of lights, sidewalk, curb and gutter. Grant funds were received for light towers to be installed at each finger pier to allow each boat slip access to electric and water. Bollard lights will be installed along the boardwalk. The
Waterway Improvement Fund grant was approved to replace decking along the boardwalk and finger piers. Mr. Whitehill advised that the Corsica River, including the boat slips, will be dredged and the phragmites on the two lots across Watson Road will be removed as part of the dredging project through the County. The Town received a Community Parks and Playgrounds grant to install three ADA accessible picnic pavilions which includes picnic tables, grills, water,
and electric.
a Mr. Whitehill advised that the Town Council did not approve the recommendation for Southeast Lawn and Landscape to extend their contact to cover maintenance at the Wharf Park. At this time, maintenance is being handled by the Department of Public Works.

Rich Ryan was sworn in for a three-year term to the PAB by Mr. McCluskey.

Mr. Whitehilladdressed the election of officers. He requested nominations from the floor for each position. After discussion, Ms. Simpson made a motion to accept the proposed slate of officers: Mike Whitehill as Chair, Pricilla Mileskias Vice Chair, and Sandy Simpson as Secretary. Mr. Ryan seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The nominations were accepted.

a The next PAB meeting will be held at the Millstream Park Pavilion on Tuesday, October 6,2020.
Reports:
a None Announcements and events o Ms. Robinson read announcements for upcoming meetings and events.
o Town Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7,2020.

Ms. Simpson made a motion, which was seconded by Ms. Mileski, to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. The PAB meeting adjourned at 5:53 p.m.
