7-1 Definitions

The definitions as used in this article shall have the following meanings: PUBLIC PROPERTY. Any building, ground, park, street, highway, alley, sidewalk, station, terminal or other structure, road or parking area which is owned, leased or operated by the Federal Government, the State of Maryland, Queen Anne's County, or the Town of Centreville.

7-2 Consumption In Public Prohibited

It is declared to be public nuisance and unlawful for any person to consume any alcoholic beverage or possess, in any open container, any alcoholic beverage, as defined in Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland, while: On public property, unless authorized by a governmental entity that has jurisdiction over the property; On any parking area, public or private, or other outside area of any combination of privately owned retail establishments where the general public is invited for business purposes; On any parking area or facility or any other area designed or intended to serve any retail, commercial or governmental establishment as a parking lot or landscaped area; or Inside any motor vehicle parked or located on any of the places enumerated in this section.

7-3 Exceptions The Town

Council of Centreville reserves the right, at its pleasure and discretion, and in the best interests of the citizens of the Town of Centreville, to grant, on special occasions and other events, exceptions to the provisions of this article.

7-4 Violations And Penalties

A violation of the provisions of this article shall constitute a municipal infraction, subject to the penalties provided in § 1-14.B.5.b of the Town Code.
